Case 6: Contractbook
In 2017, 2L invested in Contractbook as part of an investor consortium that was the first professional investor in the company. Contractbook's software solution provides fully automated contract management, allowing customers to create, sign, and organize all their contracts on one platform.

In 2019, several international venture funds became part of the ownership group, and the company moved to the USA. 2L still holds a small minority stake in the company.

Case 5: Masteskurerne
At 2L Ejendomme, we find properties where we can build upon the history and soul, unique to the land, location, and building. This has been the case with all our projects, including those at Holmen in Copenhagen. Nonetheless, Masteskurene is something truly special. They form a unique architectural work that, due to a series of coincidences, has been allowed to stand for 250 years since their construction. Consequently, they have been preserved. With the project we present here, we believe we have found a good balance between history and modern functionality.

The project has been awarded by the Copenhagen Municipality.

Case 3: Torpedohallen
Torpedohallen was constructed after World War II with funds from the Marshall Aid, and the property was used for building torpedo boats based on German designs. The project transformed the property into 70 exclusive high-quality apartments, both in craftsmanship and architectural design.

The property is particularly striking with its inner street and basin, originally used for launching the newly built torpedo boats and today serving as a recreational area where residents launch their kayaks.

The proximity to water on all sides and the New York-inspired raw apartments with high ceilings and original exposed steel beams make the property unique, attracting significant attention to the project. The project has been awarded by the Copenhagen Municipality.

2L, together with Tegnestuen Vandkunsten, developed the project, which was executed in a joint venture with NCC.

Case 4: Legacy
In 2022, 2L invested in the PropTech company Legacy, which has developed a software tool that provides building owners with a comprehensive overview of the CO2 emissions from their property portfolios and the ability to set targets for future CO2 emissions. This simplifies and automates CO2 reporting, allowing building owners to focus their time on proactively managing their property portfolios.

With many years of experience in the real estate sector, 2L is uniquely positioned to help Legacy connect closely with its customers and understand their challenges. At the same time, 2L has a strong desire to contribute to raising awareness in the sector about reducing the climate footprint.

Together with Vækstfonden, The Footprint Firm, and several business angels, 2L invested in Legacy’s seed round in 2022.

Case 2: DSS

2L invested in DSS in 1998 when the company was on the verge of closure. Under 2L’s ownership, the company’s two business areas were split into independent units, laying the foundation for solid development. 2L expanded ownership to the employees of the companies, who were invited to invest alongside management and 2L. After several years of strong development, both units were sold to two industrial buyers in 2002 and 2013.

DSS

In January 1998, Lars-Erik Houmann Christensen and Lau Kristensen purchased a company in Nakskov, which was named DSS, Danish Separation Systems A/S. The company, originally founded by De Danske Sukkerfabrikker, was on the brink of closure and was owned by Dow Chemical at the time. DSS was a high-tech company that worked on the development, production, and sale of membranes and membrane filtration elements, as well as customer-specific turn-key filtration systems, primarily for the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.

DSS quickly entered a period of good development, and in 2000, DSS Silkeborg A/S was established, which from the start focused specifically on membrane filtration for the dairy sector.

In 2002, Danish Separation Systems A/S was sold to the Swedish company Alfa Laval, where the company now serves as a cornerstone in Alfa Laval's efforts to penetrate the membrane filtration market.

DSS Silkeborg A/S was not included in the transaction with Alfa Laval, and 2L, along with the company’s management, chose to retain and further develop the company.

Since then, DSS Silkeborg A/S underwent significant development and achieved the status of a dominant global player.

DSS Silkeborg A/S was divested in the fall of 2013 when Swedish Tetra Pak acquired the company and integrated it as the central element in the group's business unit for providing membrane filtration solutions to the dairy industry
